These falls sit on the border between the US and Canada. We traveled to the Canadian side to get a better view of them. The falls consist of the American Falls, with the Bridal Veil off to the side. Farther upriver are the Horseshoe Falls, where people really did go over in barrels. The first was a 63-year-old woman. Once a 7-year-old boy fell over and lived to tell the tale.
Judy relates, “Exhilarating! Riding on the top deck at the front of the boat, holding onto the rail, feet braced for the swells. Feeling the cool mist spray on my face and knowing I was grinning from ear to ear. I looked around me at everyone I could see to view the reactions. A quick thought impressed me as I looked and saw people of all colors and nationalities, and their reactions were very similar to mine—the pure delight on their faces, dripping with water. There are no boundaries to some of the pleasures we experience no matter who we are.”
