When Brigham Young and his family moved to Nauvoo, they first settle in Montrose, Iowa. While Brigham was on his mission to England, his wife bought the property and moved into an unfinished log cabin. Brigham came home and finished the cabin, then built this home where he and his family of 6 children lived until the Saints moved west. Mary Ann wrote Brigham to tell him of Joseph Smith’s death. We got to see what a great carpenter Brigham Young was. His home was amazing. We also saw some restored china that archeologists found in the root cellar. Brigham Young led the Church after Joseph’s death. He saw that the temple was finished and led the Saints to the West.
