18 Jul - Water, Water Everywhere!
This is from Carol. “The rushing Niagara Falls was an ‘ah-ha’ moment of the Lord’s grandeur in creating the ‘living waters of life.’ Seeing the force of the Falls rushing over the rocks and feeling the spray truly made me think of the force from which it came—Our Heavenly Father. We learned of the importance of the Eerie Canal to the Saints so they could travel safely to the places the Lord wanted them to go in order for the gospel to be spread. Truly the faith and prayers of Lucy Mack Smith helped to have the river to thaw so they could get out of the frozen river and travel to Ohio. Her faith and prayers made it happen! In the evening the ‘waters of life’ came flowing out in the music, words, and love of the [performers in the musical production “This Is Kirtland.”] They honored the Savior’s pioneers in the Kirtland area in the 1830’s. All of the cast—from 3 year olds to adults—gave their all to help us learn of the great sacrifice of those early Saints, whose hearts were full of the living waters of life. I’m grateful for the Savior’s living water.”
