The Visitors’ Center has a statue of the Cristus and a statue of Joseph Smith’s first vision. We saw a model of Old Nauvoo and read about their history and industry in displays along the walls.
Remembering Nauvoo
This video used excerpts from pioneer journals to describe life in Nauvoo. It was very uplifting and a great way to begin our visit to this historic town.
High Hopes & River Boats
We attended this live performance by performing young adult missionaries about one family’s experience in Nauvoo from 1839-1846. It was entertaining and the musical talent of the troupe was impressive. One inspiring song came after the news of Joseph’s death as they counted themselves blessed to have known this prophet.
